Ziad Khan: Filmmaking

Current interests lie in making feature length films for theatrical release. Previously have been actively involved in different aspects of films and drama, stage and talk shows, current affairs, news stories, and news commentaries, documentaries, writing scripts and stories, translations and adaptations from other languages and cultures to Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi,  English and vice versa. Multi-lingual interests are not limited to only film works but writing and disseminating information using other modes like seminars, meetings, Workshops, Conferences, Web-logs (blogs) etc.

Worked on drama and documentary projects to portray the life of ethnically diverse society in North America. The projects were intended to create greater understanding of the issues in a diverse religious, cultural, and ethnic society and to increase acceptance of the people suffering from such stereotypes. Wrote, produced, and directed feature and short films, drama, talk shows, documentaries, current affairs programs, news commentaries and reports telling tales of intricacies, complexities, and dynamics involved in everyday life about different vested interest groups and subjects of current and futuristic interests. Produced several general interest programs, drama, short and features films, current affairs, and news reports highlighting current problems of the people of different ethnicities in North America.

Worked with different public and private production organizations including public broadcasting systems, public access channels, private television production bodies, and ethnic programming production houses in Washington, D.C., New York, Toronto, and Los Angeles. Areas of production included stage shows, talk shows and interviews, features, documentaries, community programming, digest and magazine programs.
